The first ten runs define your account. Early on you lack tablets, lack artifact variety, and die to simple mistakes. This guide gives a progression roadmap so those early runs build toward a powerful late-game account.
The mantra: survive, learn, and invest in permanent upgrades before chasing flashy builds.
Run 1–3: Learn To Survive
Pick Sword & Shield. Stack Defense and Life Steal. Your only goal is to reach a boss and learn its patterns without raging. Do not worry about optimal damage yet.
Run 4–7: Tablet Foundation
Start prioritizing tablets. A few defensive tablets (Courage, Conviction) pay dividends across every future run. Begin experimenting with one tag you enjoy.
Run 8–10: First Real Build
Commit to a tag (Sturdy, Ember, Precision, etc.) and collect its artifacts. By run ten you should have a coherent, if imperfect, build that clears mid chapters.
Key Artifacts
These items are referenced from our artifact catalog and form the backbone of this build.
Beast's Heart

Bloodstone Earrings
Life Steal keeps new players alive.
Absolute Ring

Pro Tips
- Death is feedback, not failure — note what killed you.
- Spend sapphires on Destiny Inscription between runs — that is the only progression that carries over.
- Stick to one weapon for your first ten runs to build muscle memory.
