Crossbow is Sephiria’s premier ranged weapon. It lets you damage enemies from a safe distance, and under the right conditions its arrows pierce up to two enemies, which makes it strong against packed groups. The Reload Ranger build is built around solving the Crossbow’s one real weakness: the reload.
There is a trade-off you have to plan around. While you are firing, your movement speed drops by roughly 40 percent, and once the magazine is empty you are stuck in a reload animation with no way to defend yourself. Every item below either shortens that reload, enlarges the magazine, or reloads for you.
Reposition, Then Volley
Do not hold the fire button while enemies close in. Fire a volley, dash to a new angle, then fire again. Because firing slows you by about 40 percent, standing still to empty a magazine is how Crossbow runs end.
- Fire in bursts: empty part of the magazine, reposition, then continue.
- Reload behind cover or after a dash — never while something is winding up an attack.
- Pierce matters most against lines of enemies, so line up your shots before firing.
Fix the Reload
This is the whole build. Reload Speed shortens the vulnerable window, Magazine Count gives you more shots before that window arrives, and auto-reload effects remove it entirely. Stack at least two of the three before committing to a long fight.
Recommended Artifacts
Look for Sturdy, Frost Relic and Storm Cloud tags. Reload pieces come from Sturdy; Frozen Bow supplies the auto-reload that turns the weapon from bursty into continuous.

Pro Tips
- Treat the empty magazine as a hard danger signal — dash first, reload second.
- Auto-reload and Magazine Count stack well: more shots plus free refills.
- Circle bosses at the edge of your range instead of backing straight into a wall.
